Welcome to the new site for the USS Cochrane. There is a ton of new functionality such as the ability to keep your own info up to date. There is a fully integrated forum and a new photo gallery. I will be adding new features and content as time permits. The forum is somewhat complete and I am just beginning on the gallery. If you were a member of the old forums, your old login should work. PLEASE LOG IN and edit your profile with new information. As always, if you have any problems, Contact Me for assistance. UPDATE:The old crew list has been imported into the new system. I did have some database problems so if you have any problems, let me know. When you login, make sure that your details are correct. If you login and see that it is someone elses profile please DO NOT CHANGE IT, contact me with what happened and I will make the needed changes. You already have an account on this site if you were ever a member of the old crew list and/or forum. You may not be able to access it if you currently have a different email address than when you first signed up. If your email is the same then you should be able to retrieve your login info using the Forgot login link in the login form. If you cannot access your account let me know and I will assist you.

This site is dedicated to all of the men that served aboard
USS COCHRANE
Welcome Aboard shipmate. Go ahead and click around and see what's new. Be sure to register to add yourself to the Crew List. I want to thank everyone that has contributed to this site. You guys have made it what it is today. If you would like to contribute please see the FAQ for more information. USS Cochrane DDG-21 was decommissioned 01 Oct 1990 and Stricken 20 Nov 92. She was towed from the Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility (NISMF), Pearl Harbor, Hawaii to International Ship Breaking's facility in Brownsville, Texas. She arrived in Texas 26 Mar 01 and a few of us lucky shipmates had the honor of giving her a final send off on 31 Mar 01. It will take approximately 7 months before she is fully dismantled and sold for scrap. The USS Cochrane was making the voyage from Pearl Harbor with the USS Stoddert DDG-22. I am sorry to report that the Stoddert did not make the journey successfully. She sank in a storm out in the Pacific Ocean. The Newsweek article can be seen . Please visit the Ship's Forums for more information.

It seems that numerous people are having a hard time updating their profiles. Hopefully this will help. - Log into the site. If you do not remember your user name or password, click the "forgot Login?" link below the login form. I may have assigned one to you if you were only listed on the old crew list. If so, you will need to retrieve bith your user name and password. If your email has changed, contact me and I will update your profile for you. If you were not a member of the old site, you will need to click "Register" on the login form to the left. The following instructions do not pertain to new registrations, only editing an existing profile after you successfully login.
- Click on "edit your profile" in the users menu at the left.
- You will see four tabs at the top of the profile. The default tab is "Portrait". Here you can add a picture of yourself if you wish. This is not mandatory.
- Click on the "contact info" tab. Here you will need to make sure that the "first name", "last name", "email" and "username" fields are filled in. These are mandatory fields. You can fill in the other information as you wish. Hover your mouse over the icons at the right of the fields to see what they mean.
NOTE: THE USERNAME CANNOT CONTAIN ANY SPACES. THE OLD SITE ALLOWED THIS BUT THIS ONE DOES NOT. IF YOUR OLD LOGIN NAME CONTAINED SPACES, YOU CAN LOGIN BUT CANNOT UPDATE YOUR PROFILE UNTIL YOU CHANGE THIS. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UPDATE THE PROFILE IF THERE ARE ANY SPACES OR DISALLOWED CHARACTERS. IF YOU GET AN ERROR WHILE SAVING, READ IT TO SEE WHAT YOU DID WRONG, MAKE CORRECTIONS AND PRESS UPDATE AGAIN.
- Click the "additional info" tab and fill in any info that you wish. There are no mandatory fields under this tab.
- Click the "Cochrane info" tab. Here you will need to select your relationship to the crew member (Select "crew member" if you were a member of the crew). This is mandatory but the rest of the info is not but should be filled out if you were a crew member. The rest of us want to know when you were onboard and where you worked.
- Thats it! Click the "update" button at the bottom of your profile and it will be updated with your current info. Return there anytime that you want to add or change anything such as your email address. Welcome Aboard Shipmate!
- To check if you have been added to the crew list, click the Crew List button on the top menu bar. Your info should be there now.
